A project from DRAW 101 [Drawing II: Composition and Media] class at SCAD. The main focus of the assignment was to depict textures through colors and shading. The theme of my drawing is badminton, and the composition itself has plenty of textures to render: the metal rim and nylon strings of the racket, the leather shoes, and the feathers of the shuttlecock. This work means a lot to me as it has a deeper level of significance than merely a school assignment. Badminton is a sport my dad and I love to play, through which I also got to connect with him.
Early composition sketch and pastel study of each element.
